Charles Bukowski

It is not a secret, Bukowski is my favorite writer.. Someone whom, even though, might not have been seen as a positive person, is someone who I look up to. Someone whom I admire.

My dear friend, Meddy, showed me a poem of his, that I did not know.

Here it goes!

there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I'm not going
to let anybody see
you.

there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I pour whiskey on him and inhale
cigarette smoke
and the whores and the bartenders
and the grocery clerks
never know that
he's
in there.

there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
me up?
you want to screw up the
works?
you want to blow my book sales in
Europe?

there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody's asleep.
I say, I know that you're there,
so don't be
sad.

then I put him back,
but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
and it's nice enough to
make a man
weep, but I don't
weep, do
you?

- Love is an intense feeling of affection. -

"Só existem dois dias no ano que nada pode ser feito.
Um se chama ontem e o outro se chama amanhã, portanto, hoje é o dia

Alessandra Duarte

Alessandra Duarte, what can I say?

Whoever knows her, knows her talent as well.

She is that kind of person, that inspires. You watch her draw, or paint, and you get into trance - wishing you had that gift.

Ale, graduated from Bard College with a BA in Studio Arts and Art History. Her work is fantastical-abstraction, influenced by Klimt, with the use of blue/green tones.

Some of her other influences are: Lucian Freud, Janaina Tschape, Rothko, Paul Gauguin,  Matisse, and Peter Doig.

I'm not the best person to "criticize" paintings, so I'm going to stop right here. I'm just so happy she can finally show her work to the world!!!

Below are some of my favorite paintings for her recent work.
